John Cyrier

President, CEO

Commander of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. Founder of the highly respected construction company, Sabre Commercial Inc.  State Representative serving five Texas counties. What do these positions have in common? All require extensive leadership skills and a true passion to serve, and these jobs help define who John Cyrier is.
His desire to serve his community led him to serve in positions on the boards of Caritas, The Associated General Contractors of America, the Greater San Marcos Partnership among others. His wish to “do good work” inspired him to put his extensive experience in construction management into making Sabre one of the best construction companies in Central Texas.
His third passion, and perhaps what inspires everything else, is his love of spending time with his wife Rachelle and an extensive menagerie that includes three dogs, three cats, five longhorns, and three horses. Add to everything John’s ability to soar overhead and survey the counties he serves from his vintage aircraft and you have a life worth living.

Matthew Lutz

Vice President

As a native Austinite and a UT alum, it was only natural that Matthew Lutz would become a founding partner of Sabre Commercial, a firm proudly associated with some of the best construction projects in Austin. After he began his career as a commercial broker with McAllister and Associates and Kennedy-Wilson, he was able to hone his construction skills doing real estate development with B-Bachs Development, now BBD Commercial, starting in 2004. He has since found his niche with Sabre Commercial. His background as a development investor has given him a unique approach to construction allowing him to see the project from both sides of the aisle.
Matt enjoys soaking up all Austin has to offer, but also enjoy traveling when the time permits. He is an avid outdoorsman who can often be found bird hunting, fishing, or water skiing.

Todd Reimers

Although he earned both a BBA and a law degree at Baylor University, it wasn’t long before Todd R decided to pursue a career in the construction industry. That unique educational background makes him especially suited to act as liaison between owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors in order to deliver projects smoothly and on time. He is known for his calm approach to solving problems and has a track record that demonstrates self-motivation, creativity, and initiative to achieve client goals. Sabre Commercial is fortunate to enjoy his expertise as the COO and PE for the commercial and industrial branch. As Project Executive, Todd meets with his project teams on a regular basis to ensure that projects are on track and the best product is delivered to the client.

Todd recharges his batteries by spending time with his wife and three children, and in his spare time, exercising and hunting.

Mark McDonald

In Mark, those clients get an experienced Project Executive familiar with the unique code requirements, often difficult infrastructure, and the need to constantly be aware of medical staff and patients. Mark has the respect of field personnel and those specialized trades that serve the healthcare market because he is consistent, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He has the respect of his clients because they know he will deliver the highest quality product in a timely fashion.

Evan Spaulding

The team at Sabre Commercial was proud but not surprised when the Austin Business Journal nominated their own Evan Spaulding in the 2015 and 2016 Best CFOs category. With over fifteen years of experience as a financial executive, management consultant, and business owner, he has developed a hands-on, collaborative, servant leadership style. Evan thrives in the growth phase of a business, and he enjoys coaching his teammates toward mastering their roles while creating an exceptional experience for their customers.
On a personal note, Evan enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their Labradoodle, Max. He also likes writing and listening to music, reading, working out, being outdoors, and cheering for the Texas Longhorns.

Adam Kohler

Director of Marketing + Business Development

It could be considered inevitable by some that as a native Austinite, The University of Texas alum, and devoted Longhorn fan, Adam Kohler would pursue his career in Austin. It might also be inevitable that, after spending time with a development group analyzing investment opportunities, he would end up working in the construction industry where he first began.

Upon graduating with his BS in Architectural Engineering, Adam worked for DPR Construction, where his niche was managing healthcare projects. A return to Acton School of Business armed him with an MBA in Entrepreneurship, which led him to become more interested in business development and marketing, especially as it applies to the construction industry. Adam’s backgrounds in construction management and entrepreneurial sales merged seamlessly when he joined Sabre Commercial with its ambitious relationship-focused culture.

Currently the Austin Chapter President, Adam has served on the board of The Society for Marketing Professional Services, SMPS, since 2012. Outside of work, Adam enjoys Longhorn sports, golf, brewing beer, great comedy, and spending time with his wife, Sam, twin girls and new baby.

John Kovar

Director of Estimating

With a career spanning more than 35 years in the construction business, John Kovar has amassed a wealth of knowledge about all aspects of the industry. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, he gained a better understanding of the detail of the construction process with jobs from field engineer to project manager. That experience led him to specialize in the pre-construction and estimating phases of the construction process and to attain a Certified Professional Estimator designation from the American Society of Professional Estimators. Sabre Commercial was extremely fortunate to have John join their team last year.

Outside of work, he enjoys Longhorn sports, piddling on the farm, woodwork and spending time with his wife Jane, their four children and new grandbaby.
