Designed by Michael Hsu Architecture, the project had very high level of detail and was comprised of many specialty finishes. Specialty finishes included the color matched stone panels, specialty millwork items, antique glass jewelry case and radiused millwork screen tying into the recessed soffit with integrated lighting. Of particular note was the ball chain curtain within the reception area. Hanging from ceiling the floor, 40 feet of the curtain was installed by hand, strand by strand.

CHiP Semiconductor, located in Buda, Texas, received the Design Build Award for projects valued up to $10 Million.

The creation of CHiP Semiconductor’s space began in 2015. After outgrowing their Austin office, CHiP chose to move to Buda. Their new facility brings a very sought after, high-tech industrial employer to the area. The construction scope included the site planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and limited construction administration for the development of the new 40K SF CHiP Semiconductor office, warehouse and laboratory. The concrete, tilt-up shell building is composed of an internal steel framed structure. The collaborative process between Sabre Commercial, Fuse Architects and Pape Dawson created a successful end product that the client is excited about.
