Sabre Commercial was selected as the general contractor for the complete campus renovation of the historic Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Building to ready it for new tenants. This work included a facelift to lobby common areas, upgrades to the parking lot including a covered parking structure, the installation of 35 new 6’ x 6’ windows, the replacement of valves for the HVAC/DDC Controls of the building, and an upgraded fire protection system throughout the space. We also installed Michael-Hsu-designed cooling tower and generator screens (photo above) to disguise bulky HVAC equipment and provide a showpiece visible from HWY 71.

Concurrent to our work with the building owner, Sabre was selected by the tenant to renovate their space over two phases. The first phase included the 100,000 SF second floor of this building with office space, multiple conference rooms, an executive office suite, open office space, breakrooms and restrooms to accommodate 800 people. The second phase spanned 115,000 SF on the first floor, including a large industrial kitchen, cafeteria, auditorium, locker rooms, workout facilities, and open office space. The renovated building now serves as the Austin headquarters for more than 1,500 employees.
