John received a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Texas A&M in 1995, after which he embarked on his ambitious career in commercial general contracting. At the ripe age of 26, John started SpawMaxwell’s first branch office in Austin. Within 4 years, he had become principal. He then started Sabre Commercial in 2008 with one partner, Matt Lutz.
John’s inherent leadership abilities are evidenced by his former role as Commander of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and also being appointed and then elected Caldwell County Commissioner in 2010. During his tenure, he has focused his efforts on transportation, subdivisions and economic development.

Todd Reimers, COO/Project Manager, LEED AP
Matthew Lutz is one of the founding members of Sabre Commercial. He grew up in Austin and attended the University of Texas. Matt has been involved in different aspects of construction since 1994 as a commercial broker with McAllister and Associates and Kennedy-Wilson. He honed his construction skills moving into real estate development with B-Bachs Development in 2004. At B-Bachs, Matt was involved in all aspects of development and completed multiple successful commercial projects from central to south Texas. His background in development as an investor has given him a unique approach to construction allowing him to see a project from both sides of aisle.
Matt and his wife Amy enjoy soaking up all Austin has to offer and loves to travel when time permits. Matt enjoys the outdoors and can be found bird hunting, fishing and water skiing.
Mark McDonald, Director of Healthcare Services/ Project Manager
Todd received his B.B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from Baylor School of Law prior to entering construction. After practicing law, Todd decided to follow his passion for building and started as a field superintendent for a national builder. Known for his calm approach to solving problems, Todd enjoys working with owners, architects/engineers and subcontractors to deliver a project on time. Todd is an exceptionally well organized professional with a track record that demonstrates self-motivation, creativity, and initiative to achieve client goals.

In his spare time, Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, exercising and hunting.
Mark received a degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University. He developed a passion for healthcare facility construction early in his career in the Medical Center in Houston. He has been able to develop and grow his healthcare experience in Austin through satisfied clients and repeat business.
Mark understands the value of new and renovated spaces in a medical facility. Construction projects have a direct impact on future delivery of quality patient care. Managing the construction of a medical facility requires an experienced manager familiar with unique code requirements, often difficult infrastructure, and a constant awareness of Staff and Patients. It also requires a manager who understands and can mitigate the extreme conditions created by construction during concurrent occupancy and fast-track delivery to accommodate tenants during their move to a new space.
Mark leads by example, and has earned the respect of field personnel and specialized trades serving the healthcare market by being consistent, knowledgeable, and easy to work with while demanding the highest quality product, seamless delivery, and always finishing strong for the client.
During his free time, Mark keeps track of sports and his beloved Texas A&M Aggies, and enjoys outdoor recreation, like hunting and fishing.

Adam Kohler, Director of Marketing and Business Development
Evan was a management consultant for Sabre since 2011 before joining them as CFO in 2014. He is a CPA and has a BBA and MPA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. After having been a successful CFO for several small businesses and with a strong desire to deepen his understanding of building great businesses, he returned to school, earning his MBA in Entrepreneurship from the innovative and prestigious Acton School of Business.
During his 15+ years of experience as a financial executive, management consultant, and business owner, Evan developed a hands-on, collaborative, servant leadership style. He thrives in the growth phase of a business, and loves to coach his teammates to master their role and contribute to the creation of an exceptional experience for its customers.
On a personal note, Evan enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their Labradoodle, Max. He also likes writing and listening to music, reading, working out, being outdoors, and cheering for the Texas Longhorns.
John Kovar, Director of Pre-Construction and Estimating
Adam received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin before starting his career at DPR Construction. After helping to manage healthcare projects for clients; St. David’s, HCA, and Scott & White, he went back to school and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Acton School of Business in Austin. Post grad school, he joined a fast growing development group to build their client base while analyzing future investment opportunities before coming back to Austin to start the business development efforts of a local Austin contractor. Adam joined the Sabre Commercial team in 2013.
Adam brings a construction management and entrepreneurial sales background to add to the ambitious, relationship focused culture that Sabre has already established. Outside of work, the native Austinite enjoys Longhorn sports, water skiing, golf, and spending time with his wife Sam, and their twin baby girls.
John received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin before starting his career in the construction industry. His first assignments in the industry where spent as a field engineer, assistant superintendent and project manager where he gained invaluable insights into the commercial construction process. For the past 24 years, he has been involved in the pre-construction and estimating phases of the construction process and has attained the Certified Profession Estimator destination from the American Society of Professional Estimators. He is also well versed in the implementation of technology into the construction process. John joined the Sabre Commercial team in 2015.
John brings a wealth of knowledge of the cost of construction and the construction process to add to the “whatever it takes” attitude that Sabre has already established. Outside of work, he enjoys Longhorn sports, piddling on the farm, woodwork and spending time with wife Jane, their 4 kids and a new grand baby.
