This project was the demolition of the existing sleep rooms, restrooms and offices in the existing West Wing of the 5th floor followed by the finish-out which added 15 Neurocritical ICU Patient
Rooms, new staff restrooms, clean rooms, soiled hold room, a med room and a bariatric room all designed to meet ADA requirements. It included Tarkett resilient flooring, Inpro wall protection,
crash rail finishes, updated med-gas connections, as well as Zero VOC paint throughout.

State-of-the-art technology was used in all aspects of construction. We used Starc Wall Systems to contain the construction site from exposing any dust and air particles into the air inside an active hospital. Infection control and prevention measures were paramount every day, we used air scrubbers and negative air machines to mitigate risk. With that, we installed insulated ducted returns in the entire wing. A pneumatic tube station was installed into the existing system, along with a humidifier and new RO system, IGBU’s were installed at HM window frames, sprinkler lines were relocated to accommodate the new layout, the fire alarm system was redesigned and all new devices installed, as well as field installed headwalls.

In each room, we installed state-of-the-art Baxter Hillrom Nurse Call Systems, new sheetrock ceilings to accompany new structural steel supports for medical lights and Human Care Patient Lifts. Dedicated exhaust and associated duct work for negative pressure patient rooms. Additionally, the wing received all new millwork and Swanstone solid surfaces. Nurses’ stations included, updated Swisslog system, new GE Healthcare Patient Monitoring Systems and new integral blind systems.
