The Urology Austin 3rd floor project was a 4,480 square foot space that took an existing office and meeting space back to bare bones. Demolishing all interior finishes, walls and ceilings, creating a blank slate and providing 2 separate areas: a lab and a pharmacy. The scope of work included creating a peel and stick air barrier around the lab portion married with an HVAC system to maintain negative air pressure. Our scope included electrical and plumbing to accommodate high voltage lab equipment, with a plethora of millwork, housing the pharmaceuticals. To meet the state laboratory requirements, we added the necessary eyewashes, safety shower and fire cabinets. Lastly, we mounted a pneumatic tube receiving station for the efficient transfer of samples from the clinic to lab. Updating the space gives the Urology Austin hub a streamlined product having the lab and pharmacy staff in the same building as clinical and imaging center.
